Please do not drop off your child before 8:25 am unless they are here for breakfast at 8:20 am.
Dismissal - Please do not pick up your child on Bailey, or the other side of Orrville, or leave your car on Orrville to pick up your child. You may not pick up your child or park in the bus lane.
Above all, please be attentive, slow down, be patient, and watch for children/parents. We want to keep everyone safe by following the directions.
When true winter weather arrives, please make sure your child is ready for the cold. Hats, gloves/mittens, and boots are required when there is snow on the ground. Students go outside for recess when the real feel temperature is 21 degrees or above.
Our annual Literacy Night will be held on January 18, 2019 from 6-8 pm in the gymnasium. This year's theme is "Reading is Dino-mite" and we will have several fun reading activities based upon this theme.
Book Fair will be held the following week on January 22-25.
Black Tiger Pride Cultural Fair
The very first Black Tiger Pride Cultural Fair will be held on January 19 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm in the Lincoln gymnasium. This a free event with food, dancing, and special performances. Come join us and learn about different cultures of our students. This is a district event.
Third Grade Reading Guarantee Parent Letters and Score Reports
Parents and students will receive the parent score report from the Ohio Department of Education and a letter from our district indicating if your child has achieved the proficiency level or the promotional score. A student, unless exempted by law, must meet the promotional score in order to be promoted to fourth grade. All third grade students will take the Reading assessment again in April to show growth and to have another opportunity to meet the promotional score if needed. More information about the Third Grade Reading Guarantee can be found by clicking here.
Incoming Kindergarten Welcome Night
Do you have a child that will be 5 years of age by August 1, 2019? If so, they are eligible to attend Kindergarten. A district Kindergarten Welcome Night will take place on January 22 at DeWitt Elementary School from 6-7 pm. This is a parent/guardian only event.
