Welcome to the February 2019 edition of the Lincoln Principal's Message!
Professional Development Day
On February 1, the district held professional development for all staff members at CFHS. We had three separate sessions throughout the day. The first session included a presentation from Ms. Missy McClain on students who have experienced trauma. The second session was a panel of teachers and parents who discussed specific experiences with regards to diversity and social justice. The third session included a presentation by Matthew Deevers regarding understanding implicit bias.
NWEA MAP Data Analysis
Our certified teaching staff has been working on NWEA MAP data analysis and how to provide specific interventions, teaching strategies, and how to group students based upon skill needs for all students. The teachers work in teacher based teams by grade level on early release Wednesdays. The certified staff has also received training in January on using specific, skill based needs for individual students. This work correlates to the building and district goals to raise achievement for all students.
Leader in Me
The Lincoln staff will receive our second year of training for the Leader in Me process. This step focuses on leadership for all staff and students. Our trainer, Mrs. Williams, is originally from Cuyahoga Falls and went to school at Newbury. She currently works out of Columbus. We will receive training during our early release Wednesdays and during the afternoon of our third professional development day in May.
