Good evening Black Tiger Family, this is Dr. Nichols.

We are excited to be returning to in-person instruction five days per week for our Option 1 students in grades K-12 on Tuesday, April 6.  We had over 500 residents respond to our "Please Share Your Thoughts survey."  Thank you!

The top two concerns were identified as the preparedness of your children for the next grade level and their social-emotional needs.  Insofar as preparedness, teams of teachers, principals and other administrators have been reviewing student assessment results thoroughly.  I am confident they will do everything in their power to assist their students, your children.  We will be offering free extended learning opportunities should you be interested.  There will be more to come on that topic in the coming days.

Insofar as the students social-emotional needs, our Wellness and Success teams will be working with guidance counselors, principals, and outside agencies to identify and support those students in need.  Please communicate with us should you be aware of a student in need.  As always, if you see something, say something.

We are also excited to offer a "Meet the Architect and Construction Manager" community engagement event the evening of April 15 from 6 - 7:30 pm in the CFHS Auditorium.  In adherence to social distancing guidelines, the event will be limited to 400 individuals in person. Individuals will use our ticketing software to identify their seat beginning April 8.  If you prefer to remain home and watch the event, it will be livestreamed.  More information will be shared next week.

We also asked your preference for our early release day for the 2021-2022 school year.  87% of the respondents selected Friday with only 7% selecting Wednesday.  Thus, early release will remain Friday afternoons next year.  Thank you for your input.

Lastly, as we move into spring events, please be sure that you have completed your Final Forms documents so that we can properly recognize your children, our students, for their accomplishments.  You may wish to contact your building principal regarding your specific status.

Enjoy the next few days.  Be well, stay safe, and as always GO BLACK TIGERS!
