We continue to make changes and strive to provide an innovative menu by employing the talents of Chef Bill who is our Chef in Residence for Bolich Middle school and for the entire district.
We again planted two Pizza Gardens at Bolich (right beside the solar panels on the 13th street side). They have been tended very well by Chef Bill our very own Bolich Middle school students. Thanks to all for watering our gardens in this blistering heat so that we can harvest the food for upcoming school menus!!
The new USDA meal regulations that we are implementing is a challenge to our students. We have been very proud of the student body as we navigate this path.
Some of those changes were difficult, for instance, the elimination of the slush program. Students and staff alike embraced the beautiful new salad bar along with all the very hip and healthy offerings that Chef Bill has created throughout this year. Thank you as we look forward to next year!
We serve breakfast from 7:25 am to 7:45 am each morning. Studies confirm that students who eat breakfast perform better in school. Students who ate breakfast scored significantly higher on standardized achievement tests. Other research confirms that students, who eat nutritious morning meals generally work faster, behave better, are more creative and make fewer mistakes than breakfast skippers.
School breakfast provides needed time in which students can develop their social skills outside the structured setting of the classroom. The National School Breakfast Program is a federally funded program available to all children.

Another application is not necessary to complete to receive meal benefits for breakfast.
