Dr. Todd Nichols,  Superintendent of the Cuyahoga Falls City School District, has submitted his resignation for the purpose of retirement. The Cuyahoga Falls City School District Board of Education accepted this resignation by unanimous vote at the Nov. 17th Board Meeting. Dr. Nichols will utilize accrued leave until the retirement date of Dec. 31, 2021.

“Although Dr. Nichols’ contract extended until June, 2025, he will be retiring at the end of this calendar year” stated Karen Schofield, President of the Cuyahoga Falls City School Board. “We thank him for his service and wish him the best in his retirement.”

The School Board appointed Ellen McClure, the current District Director of Human Resources, as the immediate acting Superintendent (Pro-Tempore). A search will begin next week for an Interim Superintendent to lead  the district through the remainder of the school year. The school board will begin the process to select the district’s next Superintendent after the first of the year.

“The school board has every confidence that Ellen McClure and other district administrators will work with our dedicated staff to continue to provide our students with a high quality education while engaging our families and community” stated Board President Schofield. “As a district we are moving forward. The future is bright for the Cuyahoga Falls City Schools and the community that we serve.”
