Recognition Award Nomination

School Year 2020-2021

The Board of Education has created a special recognition program honoring two outstanding students from each school building per month. The focus of the program is to recognize students who excel in citizenship, academics, social, civic, volunteer, or other accomplishments within their school and the community.

Christina, Fifth-Grade

Preston Elementary School

Nominated by: Mrs. Andrea Stair

Tina has figured something out much quicker than most people – that life is so heavily influenced by two things that are totally within our control: our attitude and the effort we put in to everyday life.

From the moment she steps off that bus, Tina is a force of nature. Engaging with every passerby, she strives to make connections, to make people laugh and feel part of her group.

Her presence can change the tone of a room. A past winner of the Preston Kindness Award, she is the first to offer others congratulations, and the first to offer her support when others are sad or disappointed.

With all the changes this last year has presented, Tina has embraced every challenge. She is willing to jump in with both feet, and try new things – except vegetables – without trepidation.

Tina’s progress and small victories each day have added up to big results. I admire Tina, and I hope she always remembers how very proud Mrs. Stair is of her.
