The Friend of Education Award was established by the Cuyahoga Falls Board of Education to publicly recognize the volunteer service of an individual, business, organization, or group making unique contributions to the school district that are significant in scope.

WHO DOES THE AWARD RECOGNIZE?

The Friend of Education Award recognizes the volunteer efforts of an individual, business, organization, or group that:

• Directly support the Cuyahoga Falls City School District’s vision and mission
• Are aligned with the Strategic Plan
• Are significant in their scope

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Any individual member of the school district community or any business, organization, or group located in or serving the school district may be nominated for the Friend of Education Award. The three categories are:

• Individual
• Business
• Non-profit group or organization

Current school district employees are not eligible. However, former employees may be considered based on their service to the school district outside of their course of employment with the district. Previous award recipients are also not eligible.

WHO MAY NOMINATE? 

Any Cuyahoga Falls City School District employee may submit a nomination form.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR A NOMINATION? 

A completed nomination form is required for each nomination. Anonymous nominations will not be accepted. Nomination forms will be accepted at any time throughout the year.

HOW ARE RECIPIENTS SELECTED?

Recipients of the Friend of Education Award will be selected four times per year: October, January, April, and July. Recipients will be selected by the Cuyahoga Falls City School District administrative team. The recipient will be notified and invited to attend the Board of Education meeting held in October, January, April, or July. Friend of Education nominees not selected may remain in the pool for future consideration.

HOW ARE RECIPIENTS RECOGNIZED?

The award recipient(s) shall:

• Receive a framed certificate
• Be recognized at one of four annual Board of Education meetings
• Have his/her/their name engraved on the Friend of Education plaque displayed in the reception area of the school district office
