[Cuyahoga Falls, OH] — Cuyahoga Falls City School District is pleased to announce the creation of the Black Tiger Family Center. This vital community resource will provide essential supplies to families in need beginning the 2024-25 school year.The Black Tiger Family Center is dedicated to supporting families' well-being by ensuring they have access to necessary everyday items. The Center aims to foster a stronger, healthier, and more resilient community by alleviating the burden of obtaining new clothing, hygiene products, household supplies, and school supplies."We are thrilled to open our doors and begin serving the families in our school district," said Holly Merkle, Coordinator of Wellness and Success. "Part of our District vision is a ‘culture of caring.’ Our mission is to make a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most, and we are committed to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all."To help prepare for the Center’s opening, the District is hosting a supply drive from July 27 through August 11. The Center is seeking donations of hygiene items, cleaning and household supplies, and new clothing or gift cards for the purchase of new clothing and shoes. Donations can be delivered to the following locations: Cuyahoga Falls Library, Riverfront YMCA, Western Reserve Hospital, and Young’s Screenprinting. Cash donations are also appreciated. Checks can be mailed to the Board of Education Office, 405 Tallmadge Rd., Suite 2201, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, Attn: Treasurer’s Department with “Black Tiger Family Center” in the memo line. Cuyahoga Falls City School District will accept sealed bids from Prime Contractors for the Mechanical (Lead Contractor) Trades, until 11:00 A.M. local time on July 12th, 2024. The bids will be received at the office of the Treasurer at 431 Stow Ave, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 and will be read publicly and recorded immediately thereafter. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed opaque envelope and be clearly marked on the envelope as a bid for the applicable improvements for which the bidder is submitting its bid along with the bidder’s name. Late bids will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. Faxed and emailed bids are not permitted.
