Intradistrict Application Process (requesting a school outside your newly assigned zone), please note the following updated criteria:

• Approval Factors: Approvals will be based on overall available space while also taking into consideration critical factors such as sibling sets, specific grade-level enrollment, and necessary space allowances for newly enrolling residents.

• Two-Window Approval Process: Because we must ensure that seats remain available for new families moving into our neighborhoods, we will—for this transition year only—utilize two separate windows for approving applications. This allows us to monitor enrollment trends more closely before finalizing all placements.

• Submitting an application does not guarantee approval for placement at another school.

• All applications submitted within the window will be reviewed according to the procedures outlined in Board Policy JECBD - Intradistrict Open Enrollment.

Dear Families,

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the Board of Education directed the administration to discontinue interdistrict open enrollment starting with the 2026–27 school year. We understand this may be a significant change for families, and we want to provide clear information about what this means.

Interdistrict Open Enrollment

• Open enrollment will no longer be offered to families living outside of the Cuyahoga Falls City School District (CFCSD) boundaries starting with the 2026-27 school year.

• Applications for the 2026–27 school year will not be accepted for new or current non-resident families.

This was a very difficult decision, and we want to emphasize that we value all of our families, regardless of where they reside. After a careful review of the five-year financial forecast,  it was determined that the district is unable to financially sustain interdistrict open enrollment.
